Junior Primary

Arts Practice
Students will be exploring aspects of performance. Through mime they will explain a simple idea or concept (eg feeding animals, dropping litter) and also to express emotions (happy and sad). They will be learning many games that will develop their understanding of what is to be an audience and what it is to be a performer.

Arts analysis and response
Students will review a performance at the Come Out festival expressing their ideas and feelings through drawing, movement, writing and speaking. They will begin to use appropriate language for drama performances (roles, characters, setting, and props).

Middle Primary

Arts Practice
Students will be exploring aspects of performance. They will work in small groups to plan, write and perform short plays. They will be developing scripts through characters, prop and costumes.

Arts analysis and response
Students will review a performance at the Come Out festival referring to the form, purpose and quality of the performance.

Upper Primary

Arts Practice
Students will be exploring aspects of performance. They will be learning aspects of improvisation with voice and movement to create characters and also performing short scenes utilising specific areas of a stage.

Arts analysis and response
Students will review a performance at the Come Out festival referring to particular technical elements such as costumes, lighting, sound effects, music, set and props.
